1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large eggs
Optional toppings: powdered sugar, cocoa powder, fresh berries, whipped cream

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

In a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water, melt the chocolate chips and butter together, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Stir in the granulated sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, until the batter is smooth and glossy.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly firm to the touch.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, carefully transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar or cocoa powder if desired. Serve slices of the flourless chocolate cake with fresh berries and whipped cream for an extra special treat.
